Apunix's Animator(TM) is an OpenLook software package for use with a wide variety of applications that output computer generated image frames used in movie loops. Designed to be used in conjunction with the Parallax XVideo Board(TM), Animator allows a sequence of individual movie frames to be displayed on the screen at a rate of up to 30 frames per second. Existing recording techniques either use scan rate conversions, which compromise image quality, or frame recording techniques which can make even short movie segments take hours. With Animator, movie loops can be JPEG compressed and replayed for recording directly to a VCR or Laser Disk Mastering system in realtime.
